Short answer: compare total price in AUD, renewal terms, connections, device support, refund conditions and support channels — then test the service on your own TV before committing to a long plan.
What does IPTV cost in Australia?
Prices vary widely between providers. When you compare, look at the total you pay for the period, not just a monthly figure, and check whether the plan renews automatically.
For reference, our 1-device plans are A$14.99 for 1 month, A$28.99 for 3 months, A$47.99 for 6 months and A$77.00 for 12 months (AUD, no automatic renewal). Two-device plans cost double and three-device plans cost triple the single-device price. The 12-month, 1-device plan works out to about A$6.42 a month.
Be wary of prices that seem far below everyone else’s, and of “free IPTV” lists. These often disappear without notice, and some are used to collect personal or payment details.
The 8-point checklist
- Price in AUD, stated as a total. You should know exactly what you’ll pay before you hand over any details.
- Renewal terms. Is it a one-off payment or a subscription that charges again? How do you cancel?
- Connections. How many screens can watch at the same time, and what does each extra screen cost?
- Device support. Does the provider explain how to set up your specific device — Fire TV, Samsung, LG, Apple TV or Android TV?
- A trial or refund policy with written conditions you can read before buying.
- Reachable support. At least one channel you actually use (WhatsApp, Telegram, email) and a clear way to raise a problem.
- Honest content claims. Line-ups change. Be cautious of providers promising every channel and every event “guaranteed”.
- Content rights. IPTV is a delivery technology; the provider needs the appropriate rights to offer the content. Ask questions if a service’s terms or content claims are unclear.
Warning signs
- Countdown timers and “only 3 spots left” pressure.
- Discounts calculated against prices nobody ever paid.
- No written terms, refund policy or contact details.
- Requests to install apps from unofficial download links.
- Uptime or channel-count figures with no way to check them.
How to test a service before you pay
- Install the player app first, using our Fire TV or smart TV guide.
- Run a speed test on the TV itself (how).
- Use the trial in the evening, when NBN networks are busiest.
- Try what you’ll actually watch — live, on-demand and the TV guide.
- Message support with a question and see how they respond.

Questions people ask when comparing
Is a 12-month IPTV plan worth it?
Only once you know the service works well on your setup. A longer plan costs less per month, but test with a trial or a 1-month plan first.
Are free IPTV services safe?
Free playlists are often unreliable, may carry content without permission, and some sites bundle malware or harvest personal details. Treat them with caution.
Do I need an IPTV box?
Usually not. A smart TV app or a streaming stick such as the Fire TV Stick does the job. A dedicated box mainly helps with older TVs.
